Code Geass R2, ep 1 (Subs and Raw) April 6, 2008

Hmmpf, i’m very disappointed in the quality of the Aniserv raw. Its a 1gb WMV, which is about 1/4 the size of a regular anime film in so I was expecting WMV blu-ray rip quality picture. This doesn’t look anywhere near as good as those do. Very upsetting. I’ve taken it off the site and apologize to any and all who downloaded it. I’m downloading the TV-Japan one now to see if it looks equal, better or worse than this one. Knowing TV-Japan, I highly doubt it will be worse. While i’m at it, i’ll likely download Eclipse’s fansub to see if there are any quality differences.

Code Geass R2, 01 (1440×1080, H.264) - TV-Japan *new*

Code Geass R2, 01 (1280×720, H.264) - TV-Japan

A group is actually releasing pure softsubs for this. No need to double download. In the future i’ll direct link to the file, but for this one I want everyone to check their site out and give them some hits:

Softsubs @ www.ggkthx.org. Goto the rightmost column and under the “stuff” section click on “r2 scripts”.

I just watched the episode and noticed that the subs have timed karaoke.  Usually subs don’t even include the lyrics so I was very surprised (although I dislike the opening song).

Dude how the hell are people supposed to watch the series if the file size is that large and if their computers run HD videos like crap. I mean are the subbers going to down-convert the episodes so that all can enjoy?

Also if the subbers dont plan on down-converting the video( who would want to >.> ;) I think it would be best if they did it in parts so that way whatever video player the viewer might be using doesn’t have to read such a FREAKING HUGE file so it would run smoother.

I feel your pain. I dropped the keyboard one day and something changed a setting and it made my zoom player run slower to the point where the “Kumo no” would lose sync. Luckily a re-install fixed it. And i’m glad because its a lovely image.

There are smaller files out there (Links -> Tokyo Toshokan) but I didn’t post them. I’m pretty sure this one is the best. This site was started solely to save HD viewers the time of having to get a super HD raw and then downloading a fansub just for subtitles. I’m all about the HD man. Everything i’ve posted is always like 1080 unless 720 is the only other option. 1gb per episode is a dream come true. Yeah, it’ll take a long time to dl but if your PC can run it (or you can understand Jpn and you have a 360/PS3), but look at it this way:

If Nanally wasn’t blind, she’d be watching it in 1080p. If not for me, at least do it for Nanally’s sake. Help her live the dream.

Excellent. Its too bad that back in those days I dl’d anime as real media files. Maybe some group did a subtitle release, although i’m finding that’s something very rare.

If you get CoreAVC running with CCCP, you should have no problem playing full HD video.
