Kurenai and Kaiba… May 31, 2008

Currently i’m doing these shows and I plan on doing them until they are done. However, recently the number of raws available has dropped. For some shows it was good because alot of the lq raws vanished. For these two shows, its not so good because it seems like all the HQ raws have vanished.
Fansub groups might be using japanese programs and finding HQ raws still, but the people who post them up as torrents on English sites are either slacking or the files simply don’t exist. That puts these shows in an interesting position. As of right now, Kaiba 6 is out, but theres no raw from a source I trust in a format/filesize that I think would lead to HQ. Kurenai is up to episode 9 and its got the same issue. So, for right now i’m suggesting everyone grab a fansub if you want to continue with these series. I’m not sure when/if someone will make HQ raws available on the usual English anime sites. When that happens, i’ll update the site.

Well, i’ve decided to stop with Real Drive. Not because I don’t watch it or anything, but I finally talked myself into giving Shinsen’s version a download. Usually they hard sub shows so I don’t even think about them but this time it was soft subs. They offer styled and unstyled. The video quality is really good too. I couldn’t see a difference between it and the raw. This is saying ALOT because usually Shinsen has the worst video quality out of any group subbing a show.
But, at the end of the day I don’t really see a point to getting the raws anymore. If you want to check out Shinsen’s work, check them out here: shinsen-subs.org. They don’t call it Real Drive though. Its listed as “RD Sennou Chosashitsu”.

Subs As always, the guys at BBS have given us another .ass release: Kurenai 06 Subs v2 (rename to .ass).
*There was a major timing error in the original subs. Usually the BSS ones link up perfect to the raw but I posted them before I noticed that they didn’t. Its fixed now.
*On a sidenote, this episode is really good. I actually want to go see a musical now.
