A group called Dark Rebirth recently started releasing soft subbed Naruto Shippuuden.  TV-Japan releases a lovely HD version of Shippuuden (its an upscale, but only a fool would suggest that the crappy video in another group’s release looks anywhere near as good as these when played on a HDTV) so that who I will be timing mine to.

If you are looking for earlier episodes in HD (its important to note that they only recently started showing Naruto in HD), there is a guy on Tokyo Toshokan who has been manually typing another group’s subtitles and muxing them with TV-Japan’s raws.  Just search for Shippuuden and you should see his pop up along with D-R and the other group.

Naruto Shippuuden is NOT airing in HD. Keep that in mind. And it won’t be airing in HD anytime soon. If TV-Japan is releasing HD-Raws this not means it actually airs in HD.

Proof? Just look at the real HD anime (Ghost Hound, Le Chevalier d’Eon and plenty more – for instance) and you will see the diffrence.

Naruto Shippuuden, starting from episode 54 is airing in widescreen, not HD. Every Naruto raw you will download from the internet is 1280×720 and it’s a station upscale. This mean that every sign (opening credits, logo etc.) is actually in HD, but the episode itself (main animation) is still an upscaled standard definition image. That is except the movies, because they were made in HD (you can already find Naruto Shippuuden 1920×1080 The Movie RAW somewhere beause it was aired that way).

So it is not real HD. Still it looks a lot better than artifical upscales (home-made). This one at least looks proffesional.

I’ve written this, because it seems you believe that this is a real HD – it is not.

Here’s a direct quote from my post:
ITS AN UPSCALE…

>_< Reading comprehension for the loss?
